One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-car wreck that happened Sunday morning near Attalla.
The cars crashed around 11:45 a.m. June 10 on U.S. 278 in Etowah County, about seven miles west of Attalla. State Troopers say Edith Aguinaga, a 22-year-old from Decatur, died in the wreck. She was listed as a passenger in a 1991 Mazda driven by a 23-year-old man. The driver of the Mazda was not injured in the wreck. A driver and passenger of a 1994 Honda were both injured in the wreck. State Troopers say the 20-year-old driver of the Honda was injured in the wreck and taken to Gadsden Region Medical Center. An 18-month-old infant was also injured and transported to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. There is no word on their conditions. The other car involved in the crash was a 2009 Volvo. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.
