Weather permitting, beginning Sunday, June 10, at 7 p.m. until Monday, June 11, at 6 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation announces at various times the northbound and southbound, inside and outside lanes of US-31 from Columbiana Road (milepost 266.26) to the US-31/I-459 Interchange (milepost 264.28) will be closed to allow for installation of traffic striping to be done at this location. The same procedure will be followed the following four nights. Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust travel times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience while this construction operation is performed to improve Alabama's highway system. ALDOT's mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama. For further information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
