In Wilmer, a family is fighting to keep a deer as their family pet. The deer was taken away from the family, but managed to find its way back two weeks ago.
Keith Gauldin with DNR says that the deer will be taken away again to another location.
The family found the deer four years ago on the side of the road after the deer’s mother was killed by a car. The family spends $50 dollars a week on fruit and grains to feed the animal.
State law prohibits that wild animals are kept as pets.
