The University of Alabama’s Center for Advanced Public Safety, known as CAPS, has been awarded a 75,080 grant from Gov. Bentley.
This funding will allow CAPS to analyze data from law enforcement and surveys to understand the effectiveness of “Click It or Ticket”, which is a seatbelt campaign encouraging drivers and passengers to wear their seatbelts.
Bentley believes that the analysis will help improve safety on the road and save lives and reduce fatal injuries.
Besides the “Click It or Ticket” campaign, CAPS also gathers traffic safety statistics that are published in the Alabama Crash Fact Book.
