The Alabama Department of Transportation says $35,000 to $40,000 worth of equipment was stolen from the ALDOT district office earlier this week. Officials believe the equipment was taken between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. The ALDOT district office is located on Arkadelphia Road in Birmingham. So far, the following items have been reported stolen: one pickup truck, one four-wheeler with a trailer, chainsaws, multiple screwdrivers and one impact torch. Officials are conducting an inventory of supplies to see if anything else was taken.
