The names of nine more Alabamians have been added to Alabama's Fallen Soldier Memorial since the memorial was last updated in October 2010. It is a tribute to people from Alabama who have died in military service since September 11, 2001. There are now 133 names on the memorial. Governor Robert Bentley spoke about the importance of the memorial at a ceremony Thursday morning. "They always come into this room and they always stop here and they always see this. And I think that's very important that our children in our state in the fourth grade understand what freedom is and what a price that freedom cost," said Bentley. The Alabama Fallen Soldier Memorial is in the old Supreme Court library of the state capitol.
