Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama plans on expanding its Huntsville engine plant by 300,000 square feet, adding an additional 125 jobs to the region. The company plans to invest $80 million in the expansion, which will bring its total investment in the Alabama plant to more than $700 million. The expansion will increase the annual V-6 engine capacity by 216,000 annually. That will bring the plant's total engine production to more than 700,000 annually. The increased production is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2014. Gov. Robert Bentley says the expansion is a testament to the business climate in Alabama.
