The identity of a man killed Tuesday in a wreck in Bibb County has been released. State Troopers say Kenneth Earl Mathews, a 48-year-old man from Duncanville, was killed in the wreck on U.S. Highway 82 about five miles east of Centreville. The wreck involved three commercial 18-wheelers. Officials say two of the trucks hit each other head-on. The preliminary investigation shows that the 2004 Peterbilt truck driven by Mathews was first hit in the rear by a 2000 International truck headed in the same direction. Then Mathews' truck was struck by a westbound 2000 Peterbilt truck traveling westbound in the opposite direction.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 8. State troopers are continuing to investigate.
