An 8-year-old girl drowned Sunday shortly after 4 p.m. at Lakeside Park on Logan Martin Lake in Pell City. The St. Clair County Coroner, Dennis Russell, said 8-year-old Desarie Boone had just gotten to the lake with her family and friends when they discovered the girl was missing.
Desarie's mother found her daughter in the water. Desarie was transported to St. Vincent's St. Clair, where she was pronounced dead.
