MONTGOMERY - AL - Governor Robert Bentley on Thursday will join community leaders at the annual National Day of Prayer Service at the State Capitol. It will start at noon.
The National Day of Prayer is observed on the first Thursday of May each year. The purpose of the National Day of Prayer is to encourage people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The annual observance was established in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress. The resolution was signed by President Harry S. Truman.
