The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has confirmed that a man was killed after being involved in a motorcycle accident at Barber Motorsports Park. The accident happened on Sunday. The coroner says the victim was 33-year-old Brandon Williford from Riverview, Florida. Williford died when his motorcycle collided with another bike and he struck a guardrail. This is the second time in three years a motorcyclist has been killed on the track. Public relations for Barber Motorsports park referred Fox 6 to the company that was renting the park this weekend, Sportbike Track Time. The Michigan-based company sells opportunities for amateur racers to get some time on major tracks like Barber. Participants could buy 20 minutes of time on the track this weekend for $235. The company's website says it puts riders into three groups: novice, intermediate and advanced. Riders are supposed to tell the company which group they fit in, and Sportbike Track Time also has race coaches who can move riders from one skill level to another if they think they've been misplaced. The only statement company officials made Monday about the death of a customer was this paragraph posted on their website: "It is with regret and sadness that we confirm a fatality took place during Sportbike Track Time at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday resulting in the death of one of our participants and a member of our Sportbike family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the participant's family and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time."
