Helena police say an adult male was killed in a head-on collision on Shelby County 52 West Wednesday morning. Around 9 a.m., Helena police and EMS responded to the scene of the wreck between Shelby County 13 and the Cahaba River. After arriving, Helena EMS called for a Lifesaver helicopter and ambulances.
The adult male was prounounced dead at the scene. Police are waiting to notify next of kin before they release his identity.
Another adult and a child were transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
This is the second head-on collision on Shelby County 52 in two days. A school bus and a truck collided Tuesday afternoon, injuring two adults.
