On March 29th, 2012, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing Shelby County resident. Carrie Elaine Gentry, a 64 year old female from Chelsea, was reported last seen at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 28th. She is described as 5’8” tall, approximately 185 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Gentry has no known medical issues that would explain her disappearance ,and her friends and family state this is very uncharacteristic.
Gentry’s vehicle is also missing. It is a 2002 Lexus RX300, silver in color with Alabama tag number 58G19T1.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, along with aerial support from The Alabama Department of Public Safety, have conducted extensive searches in the areas Ms. Gentry was last known to be. Members of the City of Calera dive team have also assisted in a search of a nearby pond and stream.

Sheriff Curry will be available to provide additional information on the search for Ms. Gentry at 3:00 p.m. today, April 2nd, at the Chelsea City Hall located at 1611 Chelsea Rd.
