State lawmakers, who are half way through the legislative session, go back to work today.
Lawmakers have not officially started work on the budgets, which is expected to be a major challenge because of the state's financial problems. They also have yet to introduce a bill aimed at fixing problems with Alabama's immigration law.
A bill that would authorize charter schools is also expected to generate debate that may dominate this second half.
