What started as a food fight became much more serious as multiple students were allegedly maced at Bessemer City High School. Parents and students claim that five to 10 students were treated for the effects of mace at UAB West. It all started when three to four students began a food fight in the school cafeteria, according to Bessemer City School Superintendent Dr. Fred Primm, Jr. School resource officiers allegedly used mace to stop the fight. The students who started the fight could face suspension or expulsion.
