The Alabama Department of Transportation announces lane closures on U.S. 78 westbound at the I-20 Interchange (Exit 140) to perform paving operations Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). U.S. 78 westbound outside (right) lane and on ramp acceleration lane, at the I-20 Interchange (Exit 140) will be closed intermittently, to perform paving operations. The inside westbound lane will remain open to traffic.
This work will be completed in one day dependent on weather conditions and work progress. All traffic lanes will be reopened by approximately 6:00 p.m., March 28, 2012.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama's roadways.
