Auburn conducted its second football practice of the spring Saturday morning, working two hours in helmets and shorts. Because of the warm, breezy weather, the Tigers were able to practice outdoors for the first time this spring. "I feel like today we picked up where we left off yesterday," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik of the energetic session. "I thought today was a good high-energy practice, which we expect the first couple of days. I thought the focus was there, I thought the energy was there, and, again, I'm proud of our team after two days simply because I feel like they're really concentrating and trying to improve. All the way around it was similar to yesterday. I was pleased." Asked if having more participants in spring drills will allow practices to be more physical, Chizik said, "I think it will, moving forward. Obviously, our first day in pads is going to be Monday. We always plan on having very physical practices and always have. "How long you can go in terms of doing it every day, that's got to become a way of life for us, but in the same breath, we also have to be very conscientious of depth. Our plan is for this to be a very physical spring practice. Our plan is to start that Monday, and then moving forward, we'll engage that based on the health of our team." After a Sunday break, the Tigers return to the practice field in full pads Monday morning at 8:45 CT. All practices are closed to the public.
