Weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation has announced paving work that will close the inside lane of Interstate 59 southbound in Jefferson County Sunday night from Allison/Bonnet to the 19th and 18th Street interchange.
Work will begin Sunday, March 25 at 9 p.m. and continue until Monday, March 26 at 6 a.m. Paving operations will be done on the inside lane of I-59 southbound from the Allison/Bonnet Interchange (milepost 115) to one mile south of the 19th and 18th Street Interchange in Bessemer (milepost 111). The same procedure will be followed the following four nights.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama's roadways.
