According to ReligionFacts.com, when it comes to church attendance, Alabama ties with Louisiana and South Carolina with Mississippi being one percentage point behind. 58% of the first place states residents attend church on a regular basis. That is compared to 42% nationwide. With the exception of Utah, all states with a place ranking of five or better are southern states.
