Justin Ross Harris, a Tuscaloosa native, is being held without bond in Cobb County Jail in Georgia. While going to a trip to Home Deport on Wednesday, he level his toddler son in his SUV for seven hours. Harris did not realize that his son was still in the car and strapped to his car seat until shortly after 4 p.m. when we was leaving an office in the Cumberland Mall area. At that point he discovered that his son was in medical distress, pulled over, and screamed for help.
Harris was charged with first-degree cruelty to a child and felony murder. He is a 1999 graduate of Tuscaloosa’s Central High School and was formerly employed by the University of Alabama.
