The Downtown Market in Anniston, Alabama kicked off its 2014 season last weekend. By just over 9 a.m., according to Jean Ann Oglesby, the event manager, already over 300 people had attended the market. Even over an hour after the market opened up at 8 am, you could still feel the excitement.
There were several local farmers, merchants, and entertainers provided lots of produce and products. Customers represented a wide range of both Anniston and Calhoun County area attendees. Dan Spalding, curator at the Anniston Museum of Natural History conducted a critters program shortly after an hour of music entertainment. Following Mr. Spalding's event was a cooking demonstration hosted by Cheaha Brewery.
The Downtown Market will continue through September 13.
