THE Downtown Market, Start Fresh in Anniston, is market, festival and a weekly happening all rolled into a Saturday morning, 8 am to noon. THE Downtown Market will run fourteen Saturdays through September 13. With emphasis on bringing fresh produce from our farmers directly to the consumer, we also wanted to provide a venue in which we all can shop, learn and enjoy downtown Anniston again. We are located in the City Parking Lot, next to the Sollohub Justice Center and in front of the Cheaha Brewing Company, on the new Market Way.
Each Saturday will host farmers, whom we know and live near, bringing their own produce to sell. Additionally, we shall enjoy entertainment from our local talent pool, cooking demonstrations by local chefs and provide children with scheduled kids events. For example, this opening Saturday will provide "Creepy Critters" for the kids by Dan Spaulding of the Anniston Museum of Natural History, music by The Gypsy Begonias and a cooking demo by Katrina of Cheaha Brewing Company in the newly completed Lowes outdoor kitchen.
Cheaha Brewing Company is also creating a specialized brunch menu for these Saturdays.
