The Montgomery Advertiser reported that Ginger Aaron-Brush and April Aaron-Bush have filed a lawsuit challenging Alabama's ban on same-sex marriages. The suit challenges the state's 1998 Protection of Marriage Act and the 2006 Sanctity of Marriage Amendment. These laws prohibit the recognition of marriages which were performed in other states. The couple was married in Massachusetts two years ago and have a 7-year-old daughter. The case is backed by the American Civil Liberties Union.
