The Auburn University baseball team blanked Troy University on Tuesday at Plainsman Park, beating the Trojans 6-0.
The Tigers recorded 14 hits, including four doubles, compared to just six that the Trojans produced. Senior Ryan Tella led the Tigers offense going 4-for-5 which included two doubles and three RBI.
Chase Davidson was hit with the loss after only pitching one-and-one-third innings and allowing three runs on six hits. Daniel Koger picked up his first win of the season in a predetermined two-inning start. The Tigers used a total of eight pitchers to shutout the Trojans. Only one Trojan base runner was able to make it past second base.
Auburn next plays a three game series at Alabama starting on Friday in Tuscaloosa. Troy returns home to host Alabama A&M on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
