In Alabama, the average price has jumped 11 cents in just a week.
According to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the current average price in the Montgomery area for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.60, up 12 cents over the last week and a whopping 40 cents from just one month ago.
Alabama's capital city has the highest average price per gallon in the state. Mobile and Tuscaloosa average $3.46, Birmingham averages $3.48 and Huntsville averages $3.53 for a gallon of regular gas.
The statewide average is $3.51 with midgrade at $3.69, premium at $3.89 and diesel at $3.82.
Nationwide, Hawaii tops the list of most expensive fuel with a gallon costing an average $4.30. California is the only other state with an average above the $4 mark. It's $4.06.
Montana has the lowest average at $3.30.
The rising unrest in Ukraine is being blamed for rising prices. Wednesday, oil rose to $103 per barrel.
