Heflin Police say that a police pursuit that began in Georgia ended with an accident in Alabama.
Police Chief A.J. Benefield says that a Georgia law enforcement officer was pursuing a vehicle when they crossed into Alabama. The car then hit the back of an 18-wheeler reportedly near exit 205 on I-20 westbound. This exit is the one before Heflin traveling westbound.
Benefield says that there were injuries in the crash and at least one person has been taken to the hospital. Police say there was a child in the car.
