A double lane closure along Interstate 459 southbound will impact travel through the Interstate 65 interchange through the weekend.
Concrete pavement repairs are under way, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The right two lanes and right shoulder are scheduled to be closed through 5 a.m. Monday. ALDOT urges drivers to consider alternative routes as the work will greatly affect I-65's ramps onto I-459 southbound.
The repairs are similar to work that has been done along Interstate 65 in the same area in recent weeks.
Entire sections of damaged concrete are being removed and re-poured. The closure is to give the new pavement enough time to correctly settle and dry, according to ALDOT.
