Another day of jury deliberations in the gambling corruption retrial ended with no verdicts and only one note from jurors. But time could be running out for them to decide. Wednesday will mark one week of deliberations. It's also supposed to be the start of a long weekend for Federal Judge Myron Thompson. At this point, attorneys are aware of the judge's vacation plans but aren't sure what that will mean for deliberations. Personal issues including doctors visits, a hair appointment, funeral then medical emergency have created deliberation delays. On Monday, it seemed as if the only problem was the jurors' inability to find a piece of evidence sitting inside their binders. It was related to evidence presented in closing arguments about lobbyist Tom Coker who happens to be the second person listed on the indictment. But deliberations don't appear to be coming to a close and the judge had scheduled days off for this week long before the retrial began. "I don't know. I guess he'll have the address that. Early on there was an order indicating if we were still in trial the middle of the week. But my guess is with the jury out, we'll continue deliberating," said Joe Espy, an attorney for VictoryLand owner Milton McGregor. Deliberations will continue Tuesday morning until verdicts are reached on all 27 bribery and conspiracy counts.
