Joseph Anthony, host of The Big Show, said he heard the station's broadcast cease from his home and immediately returned to Broadcasting Central in downtown Anniston. Station engineers traced the problem to a transmission line between WDNG studios on Leighton Avenue and transmitter site on Crawford Avenue.
The station began broadcasting online shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. WDNG management has been working with service providers to resume full broadcasting.
The service outage comes on the morning Calhoun County and much of Alabama prepares for a second round of winter weather. School closings, road information and other information continues to be broadcast online at the station's website, WDNG.net.
