Local and National authorities are on scene at the BBVA Compass Financial Center tonight in downtown Birmingham after a package containing a white substance was delivered to the bank. WDNG has received word that a hazmat team with the Birmingham Fire Department was on scene.
Reportedly, an employee in one of the offices received a package today that contained an unknown white substance. It has been reported that the substance was cornstarch and authorities were allowing workers to leave. In addition to the hazmat team, the FBI and a postal inspector are on scene investigating. Employees at the Financial Center were on lock down while authorities examined the scene.
