(WDNG) - A third person has died from injuries he received two weeks ago during a traffic crash in Tuscaloosa. Alabama Department of Public Safety Sgt. Steve Jarrett on Tuesday said 58-year-old David McKenzie, of Foley, died at a Tuscaloosa hospital on Friday.
McKenzie was a passenger in a pickup truck that collided with a train on Jan. 28. The driver and another passenger were killed in the crash. State troopers believe the crash may have been related to winter weather.
McKenzie’s death makes 10 fatalities that Alabama State Troopers have investigated in connection with the winter storm in the final week of January. State troopers investigated six other fatal crashes in five counties between Jan. 28 and Jan. 31.
Those numbers do not reflect traffic accidents investigated by local law enforcement.
