(WDNG) - Members of the Alabama House will soon have to vote on multiple bills move through the state Legislature in favor of Sunday alcohol sales in two area cities. The state Senate passed two bills this week in favor of allowing stores in Piedmont and Lincoln to sell alcohol seven days per week.
Last year, the state Legislature passed bills that opened the door for Sunday alcohol sales in Anniston and Weaver. According to The Anniston Star, opponents to last year’s successful efforts included Republican Reps. Steve Hurst of Munford and Randy Wood of Saks. Those members of the Legislature will get a chance to vote on the bills after the House reconvenes on Tuesday.
