A suspect is still at large after a string of recent burglaries in Gadsden.
Gadsden police are investigating several burglary cases from this past weekend, including a case in which a resident and his daughter were at home asleep when the incident occurred.
Skyler McCay said he was woken up Friday morning by a man in his home who was heading toward his daughter's room.
McCay said the crook fled his home and sped away in a Ford F-150 pickup truck with no license plate.
When Gadsden officials arrived to the scene, they discovered the house next door to McCay's had been entered in an unusual way. TVs, a laptop and other items had been stolen from the home. Authorities believe the neighbor's home may have been broken into before the suspect entered McCay's house.
McCay said he is grateful the man did not hurt him and his daughter.
"By the grace of God he didn't, he went over, turned around and ran, because he could've had a knife or anything," McCay said.
He described the man as a having curly red hair and was possibly wearing a brown jacket and brown hat the night of the incident.
Gadsden officials say no arrests have been made. If you have any information, contact Gadsden police.
