(WDNG) - Cold temperatures continue to grip the Calhoun County area this week. The National Weather Service in Birmingham says winds will be calmer on Wednesday and temperatures will be slightly warmer.
A cold air mass is expected to move into the area by Thursday, however, which will bring in even more wind and some of the coldest temperatures this week. Some very northern counties in the state may not get above freezing on Thursday.
