(WDNG) - Officials in DeKalb County will receive more than $96,000 to combat drug-related crimes. Gov. Robert Bentley on Tuesday announced the DeKalb County Commission will receive a $96,000 grant to support that county’s Drug and Major Crimes Task Force.
The money comes from the U.S. Department of Justice and is being administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. The DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force is made up of members from the Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Payne Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office.
