(WDNG) - A three-vehicle crash on Wednesday that killed a Heflin woman may have been connected to bitter cold weather earlier this week. Sgt. Steve Jarrett with the Alabama Department of Public Safety on Thursday said 64-year-old Cathy McComb was killed when the vehicle she was driving collided another vehicle on U.S. 78 near the intersection of Alabama 9.
A third vehicle later struck the wreckage. The crash reportedly occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Jarrett says a preliminary investigation indicates ice on the road may have been a contributing factor.
