ANNISTON (WDNG) - Cold weather expected for next week has led some school officials to delay the beginning of classes. The Calhoun County EMA says that all public schools in the county will be delayed at least two hours each day through Wednesday of next week.
The National Weather Service expects bitterly cold weather to move into east central Alabama sometime over the weekend and low temperatures to drop into the teens beginning on Monday.
Piedmont, Oxford, and Anniston schools will return to class two hours later than normal beginning on Monday. Students at Calhoun County Schools will return to class two hours later than usual beginning on Tuesday. All schools will be delayed two hours on Wednesday.
Bus routes will also be adjusted to compensate for the delays.
