(WDNG) - Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed an Anniston gas station Monday evening. An employee reportedly told police an unidentified man wearing gloves and covering his face entered the Samco convenience store on the 5100 block of McClellan around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the suspect demanded cash from the employee. The employee reportedly told police the suspect acted as though he had a weapon. According to Sparks, the suspect never brandished any weapon.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and two packs of cigarettes. Sparks said investigators are working to identify the suspect from Monday’s robbery.
According to police reports, potential suspects could face felony first-degree robbery charges.
