Nasty weather is causing some area communities to reconsider their Christmas season celebrations. AL.com reports the Gadsden North Pole Stroll scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. Gadsden officials say they still want people to visit downtown, however, since the Liz Wood Project Christmas concert will still take place at 7:30, and the Hardin Center for Cultural Arts will have their Festival of Trees exhibits.
Weaver police on Friday announced that city’s Christmas parade is still a go for Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m., and the city of Anniston will have their parade down Noble St. on Monday beginning at 6:30.
The city of Jacksonville postponed their parade originally scheduled for this week and will instead celebrate on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
