(WDNG) - An east Anniston neighborhood experiences two consecutive nights of gunfire. Anniston police are investigating reports of nearly a dozen rounds being fired in east Anniston between Friday and Saturday.
Anniston police Capt. Allen George said a woman and her teenage son were watching television in their home on Woodland Ave. shortly before 11 p.m. Friday when they heard about six gunshots outside. Police responded and reportedly found several bullet holes in bedroom and livingroom walls.
The following night, a 35-year-old woman on Bacon Ave. told police she heard about six gunshots and later noticed a bullet hole in her bedroom wall. George said police recovered six .380 shell casings from the street and a partial bullet from the Saturday shooting.
The two shootings came less than a week after a 16-year-old was struck by a bullet near Lott-Mosby Stadium. Police are unsure if the weekend shootings are connected to last Monday’s incident, and George says his department is working to identify possible suspects.
Police reports indicate potential suspects could face felony charges of discharging a firearm into a building for both the Friday and Saturday incidents.
