(WDNG) - Police are investigating an east Anniston shooting which left a teenager injured. Anniston Police Lt. Jay Whisenant said a 16-year-old male was taken to Stringfellow Memorial Hospital after a series of shootings that occurred near Lott-Mosby Stadium on Monday.
According to police, authorities responded to a call of someone firing numerous shots shortly before 4:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Jewell St. Authorities on Tuesday were unable to detail how many shots were fired or what type of weapon was used, citing an ongoing investigation.
According to police reports, a nearby vehicle and two buildings were damaged as a result of the shooting. Investigators are reportedly developing a list of suspects but Whisenant says that no arrests have been made.
Whisenant said the 16-year-old victim was treated for his wounds and later released from the hospital. Any potential suspects could face felony charges of discharging a firearm into a building.
