My guest for Pamela's Place Friday 11/8/13 is Veteran/Evangelist Joe Bridges for a special Veterans Day Show.
Joe served in Iraq with the 1st calvary division based out of Forthood,Tx,19-Kilo,Abramhs battle tank crewman. He was in Iraq in 2004,was in Baghadad, a very ugly, nasty dangerous urban battlefield!! On the evening of April 6Th 2004, while conducting a mission, they were leaving a hotspot, where he was ambushed between buildings, they weren't on tanks that night, and were on a Humvee,Joe was gunning, as they were rollin thru the road between buildings, he took a shot to the right leg, where it shattered his femur. As he recharged his weapon, he took a shot dead center of his sappy plate over the heart, it glanced off, and blew some of his right face apart. After this happened in a few short minutes, Spc. Taylor Burke, an 18 yr. old combat medic, whom Joe says he will never be able to repay, took charge and saved his life under fire. He was hit in the ankle in the process yet continued working on Joe. Joe was told, that he was unconscious at this point!
