(WDNG) - Anniston police on Wednesday arrested 29-year-old Bruce Daniel Ward for allegedly passing a fake $100 bill at a Quintard Ave. store on Oct. 9.
Anniston police Capt. Allen George said that store employees were notified by their bank that the bill was counterfeit. Video surveillance from the store reportedly showed the suspect use the fake bill to purchase a $16 bag of diapers and take $84 in change.
According to George, officers took Ward in for questioning about the incident five days later on Oct. 14. A warrant was obtained on Wednesday and police reports indicate Ward was arrested at a South Anniston business later that day.
He was reportedly released from the Anniston jail on $12,000 bond and is facing felony and misdemeanor charges.
