The sketch of a young man found in the Coosa River in 1998 has been released to the public in hopes of closing a 15-year-old case. The Gadsden Times reports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Childen released the sketch in hopes of identifying a man found near the Dub Parking Boat Docks in Gadsden on May 28, 1998.
According to the newspaper, authorities believe the man was between the age of 17 and 21 and was beaten and shot. The unidentified man was reportedly between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall. The Times reports no identifying clothes or jewelry were found on the body and officials are reported as saying the man may have been dead up to a year before his body was ever found.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tells The Times that they are also working on DNA analysis of the victim.
