Two kittens are almost ready for adoption after being rescued from the north Alabama home of a man charged with 22 counts of animal cruelty. WAFF-TV reports 48-year-old Ronald Golden was arrested after police found the bodies of five kittens at his home.
Two more kittens were reportedly found alive and taken to the Athens Limestone Animal Shelter on Friday. According to WAFF-TV, Golden told police he would find the kittens on the website Craiglist. He reportedly told police he would then strangle and stomp the kittens to death.
Shelter officials tells the television station that the kittens, named Melvin and Mia, have been spayed and neutered and should be ready for adoption sometime within the next two weeks.
