(WDNG) - A woman is expected to make a full recovery after being stabbed on a stolen Anniston shuttle bus. Anniston police on Monday are continuing their search for a suspect in connection with a Saturday afternoon stabbing.
Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the incident started around 3:30 p.m. Saturday when a 30-year-old Anniston woman was riding the shuttle bus on E Glade Rd. in the Lenlock area. Sparks said the woman’s ex-boyfriend got on the bus with a knife and stabbed the woman multiple times.
Everyone reportedly got off the bus except for the suspect and the woman and Sparks said the suspect then drove the bus into Weaver. When police arrived on the scene in Weaver, Sparks said the suspect was gone.
The woman was taken to Regional Medical Center in Anniston and Sparks said Monday she is expected to make a full recovery. No other injuries were reported, and Sparks was unsure of how many people were on the bus saying the investigation remains in preliminary stages.
Authorities have identified the suspect, and according to police reports, he faces felony first-degree domestic violence and felony first-degree theft.
