A final hearing for the year is scheduled for the state’s Public Service Commission concerning statewide gas rates. The Associated Press reports the state’s utility regulatory will meet on Wednesday to consider the rates of Alabama Gas Corporation.
Reviews of the statewide gas provider began in September and were held in a series of meetings in Auburn and Montgomery. The meetings were reportedly similar to a rate review conducted by the Public Service Commission earlier this year considering rates of Alabama Power.
According to the AP in March, the Public Service Commission’s rate stabilization plan for Alabama Power has provided the state’s largest electricity providers with a rate of return on common equity of 13 percent to 14.5 percent since 1982.
