A Prattville man was injured Monday morning when the tractor-trailer he was driving overturned along the side of U.S. 231 South in Pell City.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Under Sheriff Billy Murray identified the driver as Henry Jordan Love.
Love apparently lost control of the tractor-trailer, which was loaded with rocks.
The vehicle rolled over, trapping the driver inside the truck.
Pell City Firefighters used the jaws-of-life to cut the victim out of the truck cab.
Emergency workers said that Love was conscious throughout the extrication process.
Love was put onboard a Lifesaver helicopter that landed on U.S. 231, near the crash site, after authorities blocked traffic in both directions of the highway.
The accident happened at about 8 a.m., about a one-half mile south of Rabbit Branch Road.
The victim was flow to University Hospital in Birmingham.
Meghan Davis, a spokeswoman for UAB Hospital, said Monday afternoon that Love remains in critical condition.
