Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday will detail new legislation seeking a sales tax holiday for various items related to severe weather preparedness. Governor Bentley will be joined by Representative Bill Poole of Tuscaloosa County and Senator Greg Reed of Walker County, who are sponsors of the legislation to be filed this week. Alabama EMA Director Art Faulkner and Rick Brown, President of the Alabama Retail Association will also be in attendance.
The Governor's news conference will take place ahead of the Alabama EMA Preparedness Conference at the Marriott Prattville Hotel & Conference Center. The news conference will begin at 12:30 p.m.
