A terrorist with Alabama ties is reportedly dead.
A member of Al-Shabab says American jihadist Omar Hammami was killed in an ambush in Somalia's Southern Bay Region.
Hammami was allegedly ordered killed by al-Shabab's top leader, with whom Hammami had a falling out. Hammami has been on the run since posting photos in April after being wounded by a "Shabab assassin."
The U.S. in march, announced a $5 million reward for Hammami's capture.
The 29-year-old was born in Daphne, just outside Mobile.
